Of Language
Does your language refer more to itself than to reality?
My comment:
Had America not reinvented English, America’s rise would have been hindered. Languages inform the frames of reference of a people. And when a language refers more to itself than to reality (Wittgenstein), it will hinder the development of the people who use it (the frames of reference used will be deficient). America released English from those shackles and enabled it to be a tool of progress.
How many languages today refer more to themselves than to reality, with the subsequent negative impact this has on the progress and forward movement of the peoples and societies that speak them?
